Terms & Conditions

West coast birdwatching terms and conditions

Our web-site is non-transactional, so the following terms and conditions apply to trips or services you book with us, usually via e-mail.

We strongly advise that you take out appropriate holiday insurance cover before booking with us. Please ensure the cover meets your needs.

Skomer island trips

Trips that we lead for the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales (WTSWW) are booked directly with them, and therefore their terms and conditions apply. Please ask WTSWW staff about these when booking.

For private trips to Skomer Island you will be responsible for booking, and paying for, boat and landing tickets through the Pembrokeshire Islands Boat Trips web-site, which needs to include a ticket for your West Coast Birdwatching guide. You must agree a date and time with us before booking the tickets, and agree a guiding fee in writing.

The guiding fee must be paid on the day of the trip, either in cash or by bank transfer (the latter preferred). No advance payment or deposit to us is necessary.

Should you cancel the trip, then the following cancellation policy will apply:

• More than 7 days notice: no fee payable to West Coast Birdwatching
• Less than 7 days notice: you will be liable for 50% of the agreed guiding fee, to be paid via bank transfer

Should we cancel the trip due to illness or any other reason, we will not be liable for any costs, for example boat tickets and landing fees, costs of accommodation, etc. No fee will be payable to West Coast Birdwatching in such cases.

Pembrokeshire mainland trips (full and half days)

The full cost of the trip must be paid at the time of booking via bank transfer, receipt of this confirms the booking.

Should you cancel the trip, then the following cancellation policy will apply:

• More than 7 days notice: no fee payable to West Coast Birdwatching, you will receive a full refund via bank transfer.
• Less than 7 days notice: you will receive a refund of 50% of the trip cost via bank transfer

Should we cancel the trip due to illness or any other reason, we will not be liable for any costs, for example boat tickets and landing fees, costs of accommodation, etc. No fee will be payable to West Coast Birdwatching in such cases.

Bespoke Trips

These usually consist of one or more days on the Pembrokeshire mainland, and one or more days on the Pembrokeshire islands. Once we have agreed a plan, dates, and guiding fees with you, you are responsible for booking any tickets required including boat tickets and landing fees, including for our guide. You are responsible for organising, and paying for, your own accommodation (although we can advise on places to stay).

The guiding fee must be paid on the day of the trip, either in cash or by bank transfer (the latter preferred). No advance payment to us is necessary.

Should you cancel the trip, then the following cancellation policy will apply:

• More than 7 days notice: no fee payable to West Coast Birdwatching.
• Less than 7 days notice: you will be liable for 50% of the guiding fee, to be paid via bank transfer.

Should we cancel the trip due to illness or any other reason, we will not be liable for any costs, for example boat tickets and landing fees, costs of accommodation, etc. No fee will be payable to West Coast Birdwatching in such cases.
